About First Parish

How to become a Member of First Parish

Becoming a member of First Parish is a simple act of signing the Membership Book. Anyone who is age sixteen or older may be become a member. Being a member of First Parish requires a commitment to be an active member by attending Sunday services, participating in church activities, helping in church governance and making a financial contribution.

We are a Unitarian Universalist congregation where no special instruction of belief statement is required to profess or confess. Occasionally, there is a “Tea with the Minister”, usually in the fall, where newcomers to the church learn about Unitarian Universalism and First Parish in Scituate.

Anyone who wants to become a member of First Parish is encouraged to speak with the Ministers or any member of the Membership Committee.
